At Delta Dental of Tennessee, it’s part of our
core values to support efforts to enhance the health and wellbeing of those in our community. We do this by contributing to organizations and causes that work to improve oral health for all in the community, or that generally enhance quality of life, particularly for children.

Delta Dental is an enthusiastic supporter of improving children’s health, which is why we’re pleased to manage TennDent, the children’s dental care program for TennCare. Delta Dental also sponsors a mouth guard program for youth athletes across the state.

As a long time supporter of Tennessee’s two dental schools—Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry—Delta Dental continued its support in 2011 with more than $1.75 million in contributions.

Delta Dental has partnered with children’s hospitals across the state to develop or refurbish dental clinics within the hospitals, so patients can get the oral care they need to complement their treatment.

Delta Dental isn’t just concerned with the oral health of the state’s citizens; we’re also concerned about their overall wellbeing. That’s why Delta Dental of Tennessee has been a longtime contributor to the Governor’s Books from Birth program, which provides books for children statewide, up to age five.

It’s not just about company giving at Delta Dental; Delta Dental of Tennessee employees also get involved. Each year, Delta Dental employees contribute to United Way of Metropolitan Nashville’s programs through fundraising drives and payroll deductions. They also give their time, annually volunteering for events at the Adventure Science Center and the Country Music Marathon.

To raise awareness of this little discussed disease, Delta Dental of Tennessee has partnered with baseball teams statewide to host Oral Cancer Awareness nights. Delta Dental also sponsors the annual Oral Cancer Awareness walk in Chattanooga.
