• Does Delta Dental offer vision coverage?

   Delta Dental of Tennessee offers affordable vision plans made to save you money. DeltaVision®, a partnership between Delta Dental of Tennessee and VSP Vision Services, provides a comprehensive vision benefit plan to individuals and families. 

   

• Can I add a DeltaVision® plan to my existing Delta Dental plan?

  Yes! DeltaVision® is offered as an add-on to any of our dental plans. 

• Can I get a DeltaVision® plan without a Delta Dental plan?

  No, all DeltaVision® plans are no available as a standalone benefit and must be combined with a Delta Dental plan.

• Why do I need vision coverage?

   Whether you wear glasses, contacts, or still have perfect vision, your eyes change over time. Vision insurance helps you stay ahead of those changes, making it easier and more affordable to get care before small issues become big (and expensive) problems. With coverage like DeltaVision^®, you can protect your eye health, catch potential issues early, and save hundreds every year on exams, lenses, and frames. 

   

• What should I look for in a vision plan?

  Here are a few things to look for as you decide.

  • First, check the coverage for eye exams. Routine exams help detect vision changes, eye problems, and even overall health conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.

  • Second, consider your family’s needs. Do you or a family member have an age-related or chronic issue, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration?You may want to look for a plan that helps cover some of these costs.

  • What about eyewear? If you or a family member needs glasses, a vision plan may also offer a frame or lens allowance. This allowance helps pay some of the cost for your new glasses or contacts, so you can pay less for the eyewear you need.

  • Finally, consider the plan’s network of optometrists. A large network of optometrists can make affordable care more accessible and visiting an in-network care provider will reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.

  Choose a plan that allows you to visit your preferred optometrist for regular care so it's convenient to attend appointments and protect your health.

• How do I create an online account?

  Learn more about your vision benefits and access claims on vsp.com.

  It’s easy to create an account.

  Just follow these steps:

  1. Visit vsp.co

  2. Click CREATE AN ACCOUNT at the top of the page.

  3. Enter the last 4 digits of the primary member’s SSN or Member ID Number.

  4. Continue to complete all required fields.

  5. Click CREATE MY ACCOUNT to complete process.

  It’s that simple! Once you create an account, you can review your benefit information, access personalized eligibility and plan coverage details, and print a Member Vision Card.

• How to find a VSP network provider

  Search under the VSP Choice Network for any DeltaVision plan:

  Online
  Visit vsp.com and request the information by city, state, zip code, provider’s name or specialty.

  Customer Service
  Call VSP customer service representatives at 800-877-7195 and ask if your provider is participating in the VSP Choice Network.

  Provider Office
  Call your provider’s office and ask if he/she participates in the VSP Choice network.

   

  It is important that you verify a provider’s status each time you seek care as a provider contract may change. It is your responsibility to verify that the provider you use is contracted with the Delta Dental or VSP network associated with the plan that you have chosen. If you receive treatment from a non-network provider, your benefits may be paid at a lower percentage or you may be balance billed.
